Who you know is an important part of public relations – and for 20 years now, there’s been no better way to get to know the players on the PR scene on Long Island than through Public Relations Professionals of Long Island.  

In 1990, a group of PR professionals on Long Island formed their own professional association. Since then, PRPLI has grown to become the largest regional organization for individuals in public relations, publicity, media relations, marketing, corporate communications, advertising, event planning, government relations, and community affairs. PRPLI’s membership is composed of PR practitioners from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, as well as independent communicators.

PRPLI provides a platform for our members to network, learn, share new experiences, and advance in their careers. Our professional development programs are designed to help you grow in the profession and expand your areas of expertise. Through interaction and relationships that develop over time, members share their knowledge and skills with each other.

Thanks to PRPLI programs and networking events, many careers have evolved and grown through the connections our members make with media pros, communications experts and other public relations practitioners. We view public relations as a professional management function – serving clients, the media, and ourselves as information brokers by communicating messages skillfully, accurately and honestly.
