Public Relations Professionals of Long Island is a professional association for individuals engaged in public relations, publicity, media relations, marketing, corporate communications, advertising, event planning, government relations and community affairs. Its membership is comprised of public relations practitioners from the public, private and nonprofit sectors, as well as independent communicators.
PRPLI provides a platform for professionals to network, learn, share new experiences and advance in their careers. Professional development programs are designed to help participating members grow in their profession and areas of expertise. Through interaction and relationships that develop over time, members share their knowledge and skills with each other. Who you know is an important part of PR, and many careers have evolved and grown through connections with media pros, communications experts and other public relations practitioners made at PRPLI programs and networking events.
The organization's members view public relations as a professional management function – serving clients, the media and themselves as information brokers by communicating messages skillfully, accurately and honestly.
